The Department of Biotechnology   organized a One Day DBT- Sponsored   Regional Student   Workshop on Instrumentation on 30^th July, 2016. 

Siddhartha Mahila College Students

Seventy five III B.Sc Students   from Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala, Vijayawada actively participated in this workshop. The Department enlightens the Students on all the Working principles and Procedures of all the Instruments in the Lab.

The Workshop was monitored by the Dr. B. Siva Kumari, DBT- Coordinator, Ms. Kavitha HoD, Dept. of Biotechnology & all the Faculty Members Participated in this Workshop.

                                    WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION DAY

The Departments of Botany, Biotechnology & Microbiology organized a two-day DBT-sponsored Environmental Awareness Programme in connection with the World Nature Conservation Day on 27^th and 28^th July, 2016.

                               

 On 27th July, Drawing Competition was organized on the topics “Climate Change-Health and Environment”, “Save Nature” and “Conservation of Biodiversity” for the students of Degree, Intermediate and Postgraduate Sections respectively on 27^th July, 2016.

                             

A Guest Lecture was also organized on the topic “Conservation of Biodiversity” on 28^th July 2016 which was delivered by Rev. Fr. S. Emmanuel, SJ, Former Principal, ALC. He explained the importance of Flora and Fauna, Protection of Endangered and Endemic plants.

                                

The Guest Lecture was followed by presenting prizes to the winners of Drawing competition.   Dr. B. Siva Kumari, DBT Programme Coordinator, and Dr.N.Srinivasa Rao, H.o.D. Statistics acted as Organizing Secretaries for the programme which was attended by the faculty of all the organizing Departments.  Winners of Prizes in the Drawing Competitions are as follows:

The Departments of Biotechnology, Botany & Microbiology organized a Two Day DBT- Sponsored   Regional Student   Workshop & Hands on Training Programme from 27^th & 28^th July, 2016.

INAUGURATION OF THE WORKSHOP

The theme of this Training Programe was “Instrumentation & Hands-on Training on Basic and Advanced Techniques of Biotechnology, Botany and Microbiology”. Forty-five Students  from  Eight   Colleges participated in the training programme. The Workshop was inaugurated by Rev Fr. Dr. G.A.P. Kishore, SJ Principal & Rev.Fr Dr . Emmanuel S.J, former Principal of  Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada. 

In this workshop all the 3 Departments guided the Students and exposed them to various Techniques, Instruments and Experiments which will be useful for them in future. This workshop helped kindle an interest for research in the students.
